Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins

In his first game with the Colorado Rockies against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night, Jordan Beck got two hits out of four at-bats, both singles.

Beck’s first hit came with a solid line drive to center field in the first inning. He followed up with another single in the sixth inning, hitting the ball off the mound. However, he couldn’t replicate his success in his later at-bats, flying out in the fourth and striking out in the ninth. Despite his efforts, the Rockies lost 7-6 in 10 innings.

The 23-year-old outfielder was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque, where he was performing well, batting .307 with a .999 OPS in 25 games.

Beck was chosen by the Rockies as the 38th overall pick in the 2022 amateur draft from Tennessee. He currently ranks as the Rockies’ No. 4 prospect.

Reflecting on his debut, Beck emphasized the importance of staying present and soaking in the moment. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and aimed to cherish the experience, intending to carry the lessons learned into the future.

Beck wore the number 27 jersey, previously worn by Trevor Story, and played in left field.

Manager Bud Black expressed optimism about Beck’s debut, seeing it as a hopeful sign for the team’s future. Unfortunately, outfielder Nolan Jones was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a low back strain.
