While Netflix aired two major NFL games – with the Kansas City Chiefs crushing the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens dominating the Houston Texans – James made it clear that Christmas belongs to the NBA. Historically, Christmas Day has been the NBA’s domain, but the NFL is trying to make its mark.
During a post-game interview in Los Angeles, James told ESPN’s Lisa Salters, “I love the NFL, but Christmas is our day.”
The NBA showcased five key games, with James leading the Lakers to victory with 31 points, 10 assists, and a close battle against Stephen Curry’s 38 points. This thrilling finish outshined both NFL games, which lacked a comparable climax.
