Warriors’ Steph Curry on Game-winner vs. Suns: ‘About Time’ I Hit a Shot to Get a Win

Steph Curry, renowned for his clutch performances with the Golden State Warriors, has recently encountered mixed results with late-game heroics.

In a recent matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Curry managed to knot the game with a crucial shot, propelling it into overtime. However, despite his efforts, the Lakers emerged victorious.

Just a week later, Curry faced a similar scenario against the Atlanta Hawks but missed a potential game-winner with a mere 0.1 seconds remaining, resulting in a disappointing loss despite his remarkable 60-point performance.

However, Curry’s luck turned on Saturday against the Phoenix Suns. With a mere 0.7 seconds remaining, he buried a deep three-pointer, granting the Warriors a narrow lead. The Suns failed to respond, securing a vital 113-112 victory for Golden State.

Following the game, Curry expressed relief at finally delivering a game-winning shot, acknowledging the importance of the win in maintaining the team’s momentum.

“It’s about time I hit a shot that actually got us a win,” Curry remarked. “Had a couple that didn’t go our way. We needed this one to keep our momentum going. Big win. Let’s get another one.”

Curry’s impact extended beyond the game-winner, as he tallied an impressive 30 points, along with nine rebounds and six assists, while draining nine three-pointers.

The victory marked the Warriors’ fourth consecutive win and their sixth in the last seven games, positioning them in 11th place in the competitive Western Conference with a record of 25-25.

With Curry continuing to deliver stellar performances, the Warriors remain hopeful of securing a postseason berth amidst their recent resurgence.
