The Golden State Warriors consider ‘Blow It Up’ trade proposal adding $215 million star in exchange for Wiggins package

The Warriors have recovered from a rough start to their 2024 NBA offseason, but they face the reality that they will likely miss the playoffs next year after an early exit in the first round.

They have a deep and versatile roster, but it’s clear they are not championship contenders. The best they can hope for is reaching the second round of the playoffs.

The team is banking on Jonathan Kuminga’s potential to break out and become a star player, but they still lack a strong second option alongside Steph Curry.

One option is to wait and hope for Kuminga’s development or for another young player to step up.

Alternatively, they could pursue a trade to secure a second star. They have been pursuing Lauri Markkanen from the Jazz, but Utah seems reluctant to make a deal.

Another option, proposed by Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey, suggests trading for Zach LaVine from the Bulls. This could be a cheaper option due to concerns over LaVine’s injuries, defensive abilities, and his large contract.

LaVine played limited games last season due to an ankle injury and is known for his defensive shortcomings and tendency to dominate the ball on offense. His contract is substantial, worth $215 million over five years.
