Browns Rookie Quinshon Judkins Has Battery Case Dropped Over Lack of Evidence

Broward County prosecutors have decided not to pursue misdemeanor battery charges against Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins. The 21-year-old was arrested in July on a charge of touch or strike battery/domestic violence, but the Broward County Attorney’s Office concluded there was insufficient evidence to move forward.

Lack of Evidence and Delayed Reporting Lead Prosecutors to Drop Judkins Case

In a memorandum obtained by NFL Media, prosecutors outlined why a conviction appeared unlikely. The incident was not captured on surveillance video, and there were no independent witnesses. While the alleged victim provided photos of injuries, videos taken in the same period showed no visible harm. Prosecutors also noted that the injuries in the photos could be explained by either side’s version of events.

The memo highlighted the victim’s delayed report as another issue undermining the case. Authorities pointed out that the victim had multiple opportunities and resources to report the incident earlier, without Judkins’s presence, but chose not to do so. This gap in reporting, combined with conflicting evidence, ultimately led to the decision to drop the case.

NFL Review Ongoing as Judkins’ Future With Browns Hangs in Uncertainty

Although the legal matter is closed, Judkins could still face consequences from the NFL. The league enforces a personal conduct policy that can result in fines or suspensions regardless of criminal charges. A spokesperson confirmed the situation remains under review and said the NFL has been monitoring developments closely.

Judkins was drafted 36th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft after a standout season at Ohio State, where he rushed for 1,060 yards and helped the Buckeyes win a national championship. He previously played two seasons at Ole Miss before transferring. Despite his draft status, Judkins is currently unsigned, as his future with the team remains uncertain.
