Adam Thielen in the 1st half

The Carolina Panthers activated veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen from injured reserve on Tuesday.

Thielen was activated on the final day of his 21-day practice window, which started on October 23. If the Panthers had not done this, Thielen would have had to stay on injured reserve for the rest of the season.

Thielen missed the last seven games after injuring his hamstring while making a 31-yard touchdown catch in the Panthers’ 36-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on September 22.

At 34 years old, Thielen has caught eight passes for 109 yards and one touchdown in three games (all starts) this season. He previously played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2014 to 2022.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection has 645 career receptions for 7,805 yards and 60 touchdowns in 155 games (121 starts).

Also on Tuesday, the Panthers released tight end Jordan Matthews.

Matthews, 32, did not record any catches in four games with the Panthers this season.
