Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams has signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams, the team confirmed on Sunday. This move signals a shift for the Rams as they prepare to move on from their longtime star wide receiver, Cooper Kupp. Adams, known for his elite route running and ability to make big plays, is expected to be a key part of the Rams’ offensive plans.
Adams Joins Rams After Jets Release, Secures Lucrative Two-Year Contract Deal
Adams’ arrival in Los Angeles follows his release from the New York Jets on March 4. His departure came shortly after the team decided to part ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, his longtime teammate and favorite target. The decision to release Adams was primarily financially motivated, as his contract carried a massive cap hit for the Jets.

Adams’ new deal with the Rams includes a base salary of $8 million in 2025 and $16 million in 2026. His 2025 salary is fully guaranteed, and he will receive a $6 million roster bonus in 2026. Additionally, he secured a $12 million signing bonus and has the potential to earn $1 million in annual incentives. These financial terms highlight the Rams’ commitment to making Adams a focal point of their offense.
Jets Clear Cap Space and Move On While Adams Continues His Elite Production
By releasing Adams, the Jets managed to clear $29.9 million in salary cap space. His contract, which included a $38.3 million cap hit in 2025, was inherited from the Las Vegas Raiders when the Jets traded for him in October. With a new regime led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey, the Jets are moving away from the remnants of the Rodgers era, which ended in disappointment with a 5-12 record.
Despite a slow start with the Jets, Adams finished the 2024 season strong, recording 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in just 11 games. When combined with his stats from Las Vegas, he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the fifth consecutive season.
Over his 11-year career, Adams has accumulated 957 receptions, 11,844 yards, and 103 touchdowns. Originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2014, he remains one of the most accomplished receivers in NFL history.
