The Miami Dolphins placed starting right tackle Austin Jackson on injured reserve due to a knee injury and activated wide receiver River Cracraft on Monday.
Jackson hurt his knee during the game against Buffalo last weekend and will be out for at least four games. Coach Mike McDaniel mentioned that while Jackson’s injury isn’t expected to end his season, surgery could be needed. Jackson has started all eight games at right tackle this season.
Veteran Kendall Lamm is expected to fill in for Jackson when the Dolphins (2-6) play the Los Angeles Rams (4-4) on Monday night.
Cracraft is set to make his season debut after recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered during the preseason, which put him on injured reserve. The Dolphins designated him to return to practice before their game against Buffalo, but McDaniel chose not to rush him into playing right away.
Cracraft is expected to help strengthen the receiving corps, especially with Tyreek Hill dealing with a wrist injury.
In addition, Miami signed defensive tackle Neil Farrell to the active roster and elevated long snapper Tucker Addington and tackle Jackson Carman for Monday’s game.
