Alexei Kolosov in the championship game

Philadelphia Flyers goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov is set to join training camp after missing the first week, according to his agent.

Kolosov, a 22-year-old from Belarus, hadn’t reported to camp due to some undisclosed issues. His agent, Dan Milstein, stated that Kolosov is excited to be with the team now.

“All previous concerns have been thoroughly addressed and are now resolved,” Milstein said Thursday in a statement to The Associated Press.

A response from a team spokesperson was not immediately available.

Kolosov signed his entry-level contract in July 2023 and played in two games last season for the Flyers’ American Hockey League team, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, before returning home.

A third-round pick in 2021, he previously shone with Dynamo Minsk in the KHL and is seen as one of the top young goaltenders not yet in the NHL.

Flyers general manager Daniel Briere recently mentioned that he believed it was time for Kolosov “to step up and respect the contract.” Kolosov is signed for this season and next, with a salary of $925,000 in the NHL, $80,000 in the AHL, and $92,500.

Samuel Ersson, who became the starter last season, and Ivan Fedotov, who moved from Russia to North America last spring, are expected to share playing time in Philadelphia. Kolosov would be the first option to be called up from the minors.

On Thursday, the team also strengthened its goaltending depth by signing Eetu Makiniemi to a one-year contract. The 25-year-old Finn was at camp on a professional tryout agreement.
