American Sam Watson broke his own world record for speed sport climbing at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.

Watson achieved a time of 4.75 seconds in an elimination heat, improving his previous record of 4.79 seconds set at the Wujiang World Cup in April.

Earlier in the day, Leonardo Veddriq from Indonesia matched Watson’s former record.

Climbers have been setting many personal and Olympic records at the sport climbing venue due to its fast walls.

On Monday, Aleksandra Miroslaw of Poland set a new world record in women’s speed climbing twice, with the new record being 6.06 seconds.
