Domantas Sabonis continued his impressive streak of recording double-doubles, reaching 61 consecutive games with 18 points and 20 rebounds. This helped the Sacramento Kings dominate the Brooklyn Nets with a 107-77 win on Sunday night.

De’Aaron Fox contributed 20 points to the Kings’ victory, as they improved to a 45-33 record and halted a two-game losing streak that had pushed them down to ninth place in the Western Conference. However, Sacramento climbed back to eighth after the Los Angeles Lakers lost to Minnesota later that night.

Sabonis now holds the seventh-longest streak of double-doubles in NBA history, surpassing Elvin Hayes’ record of 60 consecutive games set from October 30, 1968, to February 22, 1969.

Kings coach Mike Brown praised Sabonis’ competitive spirit, emphasizing his consistency and relentless effort on the court. Keegan Murray contributed 19 points, Trey Lyles scored 14, and Davion Mitchell added 12 off the bench for the Kings.

On the Nets’ side, Cam Thomas led with 21 points, while Trendon Watford and Jalen Wilson contributed 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Sacramento demonstrated their urgency in the playoff race by delivering a strong performance. They shot over 50% from the field and made 43% of their 3-point attempts, securing a commanding 65-40 lead by halftime. The Kings’ bench also made significant contributions, scoring 29 points.

Sabonis showcased his dominance early in the game, nearly extending his streak in the first quarter with eight points and eight rebounds. He officially reached his 61st double-double milestone during the second quarter, solidifying his place as a key player for the Kings.
