Carlos Alcaraz regards Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner as his primary rivals on the tennis circuit.

After exiting the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, Alcaraz is gearing up for the 2024 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. As he prepares to defend his title from the previous year and secure his first trophy of the season, he acknowledges the formidable competition posed by Djokovic and Sinner, not just for himself but for all players on the tour.

“Djokovic and Sinner are the rivals to beat, both for me and for everyone. The two of them are at the top right now,” he stated.

Alcaraz’s assessment is logical, given Djokovic’s impressive three Grand Slam victories last year and Sinner’s recent triumph at the Australian Open.

However, Alcaraz recognizes that any opponent can present a significant challenge on any given day. He specifically mentions Alexander Zverev as a tough adversary, noting Zverev’s favorable 5-3 head-to-head record against him, including a victory over Alcaraz in the quarterfinals of the Melbourne Slam.

“Any opponent can complicate your match. I have Zverev very much in mind because he has the favorable head-to-head record against me,” Alcaraz admitted.
