Even though quarterback Joe Burrow sat out seven games last season due to a wrist injury, the Bengals still managed to finish with a winning record at 9-8.

With Burrow back in good health, the Bengals are expected to regain their status as one of the top teams in the AFC for the 2024 season.

This week, the Bengals have 10 picks in the draft, starting with the 18th selection. Director of college scouting Mike Potts expressed confidence that the team is in a strong position to acquire impactful players early in the draft, whether they stick with their current pick or trade to a different position.

“We believe we are very close,” Potts stated, according to Geoff Hobson of the team’s website. “We have a solid roster, although it’s not perfect. There are some areas we need to address. However, the perceived gaps we have now might not be the same in the future.”

“There is a sense of urgency. We feel we are on the verge of reaching our goals. With 10 picks and flexibility, if there are players we highly value and believe can uplift us, we would be foolish not to pursue them to make a significant impact.”

Cincinnati holds four picks within the top 100, giving them options to either use them for trades or select top-quality players. The team’s draft strategy will unfold in the coming days.
