The Cincinnati Bengals made moves during the NFL draft to address their weaknesses.

They aimed to protect quarterback Joe Burrow, who has been sacked a lot. So, they drafted Amarius Mims, a huge offensive tackle from Georgia.

To strengthen their defensive line, they picked Kris Jenkins from Michigan and McKinnley Jackson from Texas A&M.

With some uncertainty among their receivers, they added Jermaine Burton from Alabama.

Mims, their first-round pick, is a big player who could help protect Burrow for a long time.

The Bengals lost tackle Jonah Williams to Arizona in free agency. They have Orlando Brown Jr. on the left side and signed veteran Trent Brown to play on the right side for 2024.

So, they can slowly introduce Mims behind these two experienced players.

Mims believes he’s a tough player, which is essential for an offensive lineman.

Bengals coaches think Mims slipped in the draft because he didn’t have as many snaps as other college linemen. He had a high ankle sprain in 2023, which required surgery, and started only eight games at Georgia.

But Mims is confident in his abilities, and the Bengals were impressed with him.

“I made the most out of my opportunities, and now I’m here,” Mims said.
