Jackson Chourio got a hit that brought in a run in his first time at bat at the American Family Field. Christian Yelich hit a home run as well. With these plays, the Milwaukee Brewers won against the Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Tuesday. This win marks the first time since 2006 that the Brewers have won their first four games of the season.
Chourio came up to bat in the third inning with the bases loaded after Rhys Hoskins, Oliver Dunn, and Turang hit consecutive singles. The 20-year-old hit an RBI single into right field, scoring a run.
Chourio, who signed a big contract in the offseason before his debut, has a batting average of .400, with six hits in 15 at-bats.
The Brewers, back home after winning all three games against the New York Mets, never fell behind in front of a full crowd of 41,659 fans. The crowd was especially excited about the start of Bob Uecker’s 54th season of broadcasting Brewers baseball.
Brice Turang had a good game too, going 2 for 3 with an RBI single. His batting average is now .500, with seven hits in 14 at-bats.
This is the fourth time in Brewers history that they have won their first four games of the season. They previously achieved this in 1987, 1978, and 2006.
