The Tennessee Titans made a move to strengthen their offensive line by selecting JC Latham from Alabama with the seventh overall pick in the NFL draft.

Latham, standing at an impressive 6-foot-6 and 342 pounds, will start as the left tackle, partnering with left guard Peter Skoronski, last year’s top pick for the team. Coach Brian Callahan praised Latham’s size and agility, highlighting his potential impact alongside Skoronski and center Lloyd Cushenberry III.

With a high number of calls from other teams looking to trade up, the Titans were confident in their choice at No. 7, prioritizing the protection of quarterback Will Levis, who struggled with sacks in the previous season.

Despite earlier hopes for Andre Dillard to anchor the offensive line, the Titans faced challenges at the left tackle position throughout the previous season, leading to a disappointing record and the departure of former coach Mike Vrabel.

The Titans faced challenges at the right tackle position last season, starting three different players due to Nicholas Petit-Frere’s suspension at the beginning of the season.

Meanwhile, Peter Skoronski, the No. 11 overall pick, filled in at left guard for 14 games. JC Latham, who played right tackle for the Crimson Tide, joins the Titans after being an AP All-SEC player in 2023.

During his visit to Tennessee, Latham spent time with offensive line coach Bill Callahan, who praised his power, athleticism, and ability to anchor with his large hands. General manager Ran Carthon encouraged reporters to shake hands with Latham when he was introduced in Nashville.

Latham showcased his hands, measuring 11 inches, during a Zoom call with reporters, and Bill Callahan assured him that the Titans would utilize him as a left tackle if drafted.
