Chicago traded for Keenan Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler from the Los Angeles Chargers, adding another top receiver alongside DJ Moore.
The Bears also drafted Rome Odunze, an All-American from Washington, at No. 9, further strengthening their receiving corps. However, their main focus is on their new franchise quarterback.
Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, has set high expectations for himself. He openly stated on The Pivot Podcast that he aims to surpass Tom Brady’s record of seven Super Bowl wins.
“There’s no reason to hold back,” Williams said. “I’m here. Rome’s here. Keenan Allen, our strong defense from last year, special teams, all the new roles — we’re ready. I’m excited.
I know everyone’s excited. The Bears fans are pumped, and there’s no reason to hesitate. Let’s attack it head-on and go for it.”
Williams understands that there might be challenges along the way. However, he firmly believes that he will excel right from the start.
“Why wouldn’t I?” he questioned. “Sure, there might be challenges, but that doesn’t mean I can’t achieve greatness. There are obstacles in every journey.
Why would I work so hard for so many years, believe I’m the best in every situation, and then suddenly doubt myself when I arrive here? That doesn’t mean I boast about it.
That doesn’t mean I go around bragging. But the way I approach my work, how I carry myself daily, how I treat everyone — friends, family, teammates, staff, executives, custodians, anyone — everyone deserves respect and should believe in their own abilities when they work hard.”
