Warriors’ Steve Kerr Not Concerned About 52-Point Loss to Celtics: ‘Flush It’

Following a staggering 140-88 defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics on Sunday, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remains steadfast in his confidence regarding his team’s resilience.

“This is a game we just need to flush down the toilet,” Kerr remarked in his postgame press conference. “We’ve had a fantastic road trip, going 3-1, and we’ve been through numerous battles this season. Boston played exceptionally well today, and we simply couldn’t match them. Now, it’s about regrouping and preparing for our next challenge on Wednesday.”

Despite the setback, the Warriors had been enjoying a string of successes, having triumphed in 13 of their last 16 games leading up to Sunday’s encounter. However, Boston’s formidable performance left Golden State trailing right from the start, unable to mount a comeback.

The game witnessed an atypical performance from Golden State, with star player Stephen Curry struggling to find his usual rhythm, managing only 2-of-13 shooting from the field and missing all nine attempts from beyond the arc.

The Warriors appeared sluggish in the first half, allowing Boston to amass an imposing 82-38 lead by halftime, effectively sealing their fate.

Although the Warriors had positioned themselves decently in ninth place in the Western Conference with a record of 32-28 prior to the loss, they now find themselves narrowly ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers, who stand at 33-29.

To sustain their playoff aspirations, Kerr and his team must swiftly put the blowout behind them and refocus on their objectives.

The road ahead doesn’t promise to be any easier for the Warriors, as they are set to face the formidable challenge of the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. Kerr remains optimistic that his team can shake off the disappointment of Sunday’s defeat and carry forward the positive momentum they’ve built in the second half of the season.
