Diego Sanchez unloads on ‘dangerous and unstable’ Josh Fabia: ‘This is real Charlie Manson-level craziness’

Diego Sanchez, a UFC Hall of Famer, has come forward alleging mistreatment by his former coach, Josh Fabia. In an Instagram video released recently, Sanchez made serious accusations against Fabia, claiming years of abuse that left him and his family feeling unsafe.

Sanchez stated that he had taken legal action against Fabia, including filing a restraining order. However, there is no evidence of such an order in New Mexico court records, as per MMA Fighting’s investigation.

In the video, Sanchez described his experience as traumatic, alleging manipulation, blackmail, and extortion by Fabia. He claimed to have ended his UFC career due to the toxicity of his relationship with Fabia, whom he referred to as a “psychopath.” Despite the intensity of the situation, Sanchez mentioned that he chose not to retaliate physically against Fabia, fearing legal repercussions that could separate him from his daughter.

The rift between Sanchez and Fabia became public in May 2021, shortly after Sanchez left the UFC. Fabia criticized Sanchez, claiming he was exploited as a coach and business partner. Recently, Sanchez shared a video showing Fabia demanding a substantial payout as part of their separation.

Sanchez emphasized the emotional toll this ordeal has taken on him, expressing sleepless nights and constant fear due to Fabia’s alleged threats. He painted Fabia as a manipulative individual who resorted to extreme measures when Sanchez’s financial situation didn’t meet his expectations.

Despite his past experiences, Sanchez expressed a desire to continue his career in combat sports, calling out to potential promoters for opportunities in MMA or bare-knuckle fighting. He last competed in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, suffering a loss to Austin Trout in February 2023.
