Jürgen Klopp has expressed to Arne Slot that becoming the next Liverpool manager would be like landing the greatest job in the world.
Slot, currently coaching Feyenoord, is in talks with Liverpool about potentially taking over from Klopp. Klopp believes that despite Liverpool’s recent setbacks, including losses, it’s still a fantastic opportunity for someone new to come in and make improvements.
Klopp, who will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, has enjoyed tremendous success during his tenure, winning major trophies like the Premier League and the Champions League.
While Klopp likes Slot’s coaching style, he hasn’t been directly involved in the negotiations for Slot’s appointment. Nevertheless, Klopp is supportive and sees Slot as a potentially good fit for the job.
Slot, 45, has had success in the Dutch league, winning titles with his current team, Feyenoord. Other contenders for the Liverpool job included Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen and Ruben Amorim from Sporting Lisbon.
