John Cena’s forthcoming retirement from in-ring competition has sparked widespread discussion within the wrestling community, particularly following his resounding defeat by emerging WWE Superstar Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel late last year.
Addressing the matter publicly, Cena recently made a revealing statement during the latest episode of Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive.
When questioned by Logan about the possibility of another match after his recent bout in Saudi Arabia, the 16-time World Champion provided insight into his future plans:
“So, yes,” Cena succinctly confirmed, indicating that his in-ring career is not yet concluded. “I hope so. I am not officially done. I know that I’m close but. I’m close. I can feel it. Like, especially seeing you [Logan Paul] out there doing incredible stuff, and, just our talent now. The product has become so crisp, so fast and so skilled. It is a different world.”
Earlier today, Cena revealed the location he envisions for his final match. While reiterating on Impaulsive that he still has at least one more match left in him, he acknowledged that his retirement could come swiftly and soon:
“I still feel fluent, and I would like to say goodbye when I still feel fluent. So, it’s coming to the point like, you know that moment in the sunset where you’re like, when it starts to go down, ‘Man, it’s going down real fast.’ That’s kind of where I’m at. I’m not done, but I need to decide when I am.”
Logan Paul, the current WWE United States Champion, has been suggested as a potential opponent for Cena’s next match. Speculation abounds whether Cena will reignite his feud with The Bloodline upon his return. Additionally, Cena’s on-screen rival and real-life friend, Randy Orton, has expressed a desire to face him at WrestleMania for a World Title.
