Roman Reigns has emerged victorious against numerous formidable opponents throughout his extensive tenure as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. However, Bobby Lashley, one adversary whom The Tribal Chief has yet to face in a title bout, recently shared his thoughts on Reigns’ remarkable success.

Reigns clinched the Universal Championship on August 30, 2020, and later added the WWE Championship to his accolades on April 3, 2022. His forthcoming title defense is slated for this weekend at the Royal Rumble, where he will square off against AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton.

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Riju Dasgupta, Lashley commended Reigns and underscored that The Head of the Table has yet to defeat him since ascending to world champion status:

“Man, you know what would be crazy, if he does retain it, he’s beaten one person, he’s beaten two people, now he’s beaten three people,” Lashley remarked. “I’m telling you, Roman is on top of the world right now and rightfully should be. He’s done big deals, he’s done big things for the company for a long time, and he’s proven his dominance. This is his next big challenge, is he beats three people. If he beats three people, that’s another notch for his belt. One thing he hasn’t done with this title reign.”

History of Bobby Lashlee and Roman Reigns

On September 20, 2021, Roman Reigns secured a pinfall victory over Bobby Lashley in a non-title triple threat match on RAW. The contest also featured Big E, who had claimed the WWE Championship from Lashley just a week prior.

Excluding multi-man matches, Lashley and Reigns had only faced each other in singles competition once before, back in July 2018.

Their initial encounter took place at Extreme Rules on July 15, 2018, where Lashley delivered a significant triumph over Reigns. However, just eight days later, Reigns rebounded with a win in a rematch on RAW, earning himself the status of the number one contender for the Universal Championship then held by Brock Lesnar.
