Last year, the Vikings’ General Manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, decided to let go of running back Dalvin Cook, following a trend among NFL teams of not paying older players in that position. However, this year, Adofo-Mensah is taking a different approach.

The Vikings have acquired running back Aaron Jones in free agency, and Adofo-Mensah believes that NFL teams have undervalued running backs for too long.

“We often talk about the age and value of running backs,” Adofo-Mensah explained. “Perhaps teams have swung too far in one direction, and now they’re realizing that there are still valuable players out there. This position offers a great opportunity to enhance performance efficiently. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Adofo-Mensah believes that Jones’ one-year, $7 million contract is justified and suggests that other NFL teams may have been overly frugal in their approach to running backs.
