New York Yankees players stand on the field during Canada’s national anthem before a baseball game against the Toronto Blue Jays

A group of fans in the right field bleachers at Yankee Stadium chanted “U-S-A! U-S-A!” while “O Canada” was being played on Friday night before the game between New York and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Most of the 44,883 fans in the ballpark ignored the chanting during the anthem performed by Max Greenberg, a rising junior at Dwight School in Manhattan.

The game was delayed by 86 minutes due to rain.

“Hey man, it’s New York,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider said after Toronto’s 8-5 win. “I kind of didn’t even really realize it. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, right? These fans are crazy. They had about a 90-minute head start with the beer on the delay.”
