Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic violence after police reported that he threatened his fiancée with a gun during an argument.

Hall was booked and appeared in Avon Lake Municipal Court, according to James M. Drozdowski, a public information officer with Avon Police. He posted bond and was released afterward.

Hall attended court with his lawyer, Kevin Spellacy, who did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The Browns released a statement saying they were aware of the situation involving Hall, a second-round pick from Ohio State.

“Mike and his representatives have been in touch with the appropriate authorities,” the team stated. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this time.”

The team did not practice on Tuesday, as players were only receiving treatment and working out at the training facility in Berea, Ohio. The Browns are scheduled to have joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday and Thursday before their exhibition game on Saturday.

According to a detailed incident report obtained by the AP, officers responded to a call at 10 p.m. on Monday from a woman who said Hall had pushed her daughter and hit her with a baby bottle.

The woman, who is engaged to Hall and has an 11-month-old daughter with him (though Hall is not the biological father), said their argument about financial needs for the child escalated.

She reported that Hall, 21, became “increasingly agitated,” threw her belongings outside, and dragged her along a porch and driveway. At one point, Hall allegedly put a gun to her head and said, “I will (expletive) end it all. I don’t care.”
