Former NFL running back Eddie Lacy was arrested on Monday night in Arizona for allegedly driving under the influence. Scottsdale Police reported pulling Lacy over at around 10:40 PM after witnessing several traffic infractions. During the stop, officers observed signs of intoxication, which led to his arrest.
Lacy was charged with four DUI-related offenses, including “Extreme DUI,” for having a blood alcohol content of .20 or more. Additionally, police cited him for having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. After being booked, Lacy was released early Tuesday morning, but no further information about the incident was immediately available.
Lacy, who was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, initially found great success in the NFL. He rushed for more than 2,000 yards and scored 20 touchdowns during his first two seasons with the Packers, becoming a key player for the team.
However, after struggling with injuries and performance issues, Lacy’s NFL career began to falter. He spent his last season with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 and has since been out of the league. His recent arrest marks another setback following his departure from professional football.
