Jonathan Taylor runs to the end zone for a touchdown in the 2nd half

If the Colts want to win in Jacksonville for the first time since 2014, they will have to do so without running back Jonathan Taylor.

According to several reporters, head coach Shane Steichen announced in his Friday press conference that Taylor will not play in the Week 5 game against the Jaguars.

Taylor has an ankle injury and did not practice this week. So far this season, Taylor has run for 349 yards, scored four touchdowns, and caught six passes for 77 yards.

Trey Sermon is expected to start in place of Taylor.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson’s situation is also uncertain as he has an oblique injury. Steichen mentioned that Richardson was limited in practice throughout the week. While he did not confirm Richardson’s game status, it seems likely that he will be listed as questionable.

If Richardson cannot play, Joe Flacco would likely start.

Steichen also stated that defensive end Kwity Paye (quad) and cornerback Kenny Moore (hip) will not play.

Indianapolis will release its full injury report with game statuses later on Friday.
