A recent report suggested that talks about contracts between the Buccaneers and safety Antoine Winfield are going well, and on Thursday, Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht confirmed that things are indeed looking positive.

While most of the press conference was focused on the upcoming draft, Licht also addressed the status of Winfield and left tackle Tristan Wirfs, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Licht mentioned that discussions with both players have been fruitful, and they have already re-signed several other players this offseason.

He expressed confidence that they want to stay with the team long-term, and he feels optimistic about reaching agreements with them. Keeping Winfield and Wirfs would help maintain the core of the team that won the NFC South last season, setting the stage for continued success.
