After concluding a successful college career, which included a standout 12-touchdown season at USC, Brenden Rice, son of NFL legend Jerry Rice, has declared for the 2024 NFL draft with aspirations to follow in his father’s footsteps as a star receiver.

Standing tall at 6’3″, Rice showcased his athleticism at the NFL combine, with his Hall of Fame father watching closely, clocking an impressive 40-yard-dash time of 4.51 seconds.

Following the sprint, Rice displayed his route-running skills and sure hands, making a tough shoestring catch along the sideline.

Although his father was impressed, he couldn’t resist offering some constructive criticism, jokingly remarking, “He’s gotta drag that back foot,” about his son not getting both feet down. The comment elicited laughter from the NFL Network crew, including Michael Irvin, Kurt Warner, and Steve Smith.

Rice began his collegiate career at Colorado before transferring to USC for his final two seasons. Over his tenure, he accumulated 111 receptions for 1,821 yards and 21 touchdowns.

While his draft position remains uncertain, analysts generally project him as a mid-round pick. Yet, given his family lineage, Rice could potentially emerge as a draft steal.

Throughout this journey, Jerry Rice is expected to be by his son’s side, offering unwavering support, much like he did during Brenden’s college football career.
