Jets Coach Saleh Confident in Jordan Travis’s Camp Readiness

Robert Saleh: Jets think “tremendously talented” Jordan Travis will be ready for camp

Florida State’s quarterback Jordan Travis endured a significant injury last season, which thwarted the Seminoles’ hopes for a College Football Playoff spot. The Jets, however, remain optimistic about his recovery, projecting him to return to form relatively soon.

Selected by the Jets in the fifth round of the draft, Travis’s rehabilitation progress aligns with the team’s expectations for him to participate in training camp. Head coach Robert Saleh sees tremendous potential in Travis, likening him to a “ball of clay” with raw talent and athleticism ripe for development.

Saleh envisions Travis evolving into a formidable player given his existing skill set and untapped potential. While acknowledging Travis’s reliance on athleticism in previous games, Saleh emphasizes the need to refine his football fundamentals for sustained success.

In the immediate future, Travis is poised to serve as a third-string quarterback, with Aaron Rodgers as the starting QB, contingent upon his health, and Tyrod Taylor as the backup. Despite this role, the Jets remain enthusiastic about Travis’s long-term prospects, anticipating his growth and contribution to the team’s success down the line.
