Cincinnati has secured the services of a key player for the next two seasons.

The Bengals revealed on Tuesday that they’ve extended the contract of exclusive rights free agent quarterback Jake Browning for two more years.

Browning, aged 28, has been part of the Bengals since 2021, initially joining the league as an undrafted free agent with the Vikings in 2019. He didn’t get a chance to play in a regular-season game until last season when he stepped in for an injured Joe Burrow.

Browning showed his worthwhile filling in for Burrow in nine games, including seven starts. He completed 70.4 percent of his passes, amassing 1,936 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also contributed 127 rushing yards with three TDs.

During Browning’s seven starts in 2023, the Bengals secured four victories.

Moreover, Cincinnati announced the signing of quarterback Logan Woodside. Woodside, a former seventh-round pick, spent the previous year with the Falcons after joining them late in the 2022 season.
