Tua Tagovailoa throws in the first half of the game

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be out for at least four weeks, but he will still be with the team on game days.

According to several reporters, head coach Mike McDaniel announced on Friday that Tagovailoa will travel with the team to Seattle this weekend for their game against the Seahawks.

Tagovailoa suffered another concussion last Thursday during the game against the Bills. He was put on injured reserve earlier this week, and McDaniel mentioned that it would be “empowering” for Tagovailoa to focus on getting better.

Skylar Thompson, a seventh-round draft pick from 2022, will be the starting quarterback on Sunday, with Tagovailoa there to offer support. Last Thursday, Thompson completed 8 of 14 passes for 80 yards. He last started a game as a rookie in 2022.

In his career, Thompson has completed 57 percent of his passes for a total of 614 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions.
