Spencer Rattler, Joe Milton III’s Top Landing Spots After Day 2 of 2024 NFL Draft

After an eventful first and second day of the 2024 NFL draft, the focus shifts to the remaining players available, particularly notable quarterbacks who haven’t been selected yet. Despite a flurry of six quarterbacks taken in the initial 12 picks of the first round, the subsequent rounds on Friday saw no signal-callers drafted, leaving intriguing prospects still on the board for Day 3.

Among the notable quarterbacks still available are Spencer Rattler from South Carolina and Joe Milton III from Tennessee. Both players were expected to potentially go early in the fourth round. Rattler was ranked as the sixth quarterback on the final big board from Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department, while Milton was ranked tenth among quarterback prospects.

Despite expectations, Rattler’s slide in the draft is surprising given his talent and potential. His impressive arm strength and accuracy, along with his ability to make plays, make him an enticing prospect. During the 2023 season with the Gamecocks, Rattler demonstrated his capabilities with a completion rate of 68.9% and impressive touchdown numbers both through the air and on the ground.

Several teams are eyeing Rattler as a potential pick on Day 3. The Las Vegas Raiders, in particular, are in need of quarterback depth following their selection of tight end Brock Bowers in the first round. The New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks are also potential landing spots for Rattler, offering opportunities for him to compete for backup roles and potentially develop into a future starter.

On the other hand, Joe Milton III brings his dual-threat abilities to the table, having showcased his talent at Tennessee and during his pro day. With his combination of passing skills and athleticism, Milton presents an intriguing option for teams in need of quarterback depth.

The Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams that could consider drafting Milton on Day 3. Each team has different quarterback situations, but all could benefit from adding Milton to their roster as a developmental prospect or potential backup. Whether he gets drafted and where he lands will be a focal point as the draft progresses into its final day.
