Coach Mike Vrabel has confirmed that Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be active as the backup to starter Will Levis. Tannehill, a veteran quarterback, led the scout team offense this week for Tennessee. Despite being limited twice last week and missing a day, he participated fully in practice this week.

On Friday, Tannehill mentioned his ongoing effort to reach 100 percent recovery, stating, “I’m still working my way trying to get back to 100 percent. I’m able to move around and get work in at practice. I feel a lot better than the last few weeks.”

Tannehill sustained a right high ankle sprain in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens and had been in a walking boot during the Week 7 bye, gradually progressing to walking on his own the following week. Unfortunately, he was unable to play in Weeks 8 and 9.

As a result of Tannehill’s return, second-year quarterback Malik Willis moves to the No. 3 quarterback position. Coach Vrabel also ruled out two starters, wide receiver Treylon Burks and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, along with reserve tackle Andre Dillard.

Burks will miss his second game due to a concussion suffered in Week 9, while Murphy-Bunting underwent a procedure on his right thumb, causing him to miss last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dillard is sidelined with a concussion suffered in the Tampa Bay game.
