Linebacker Caleb Johnson is poised to enter free agency. Johnson, who was slated to become a restricted free agent this off-season, will not receive a contract tender from the Jaguars, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

This decision allows Johnson to explore opportunities with any team once the new league year begins on Wednesday.

Over the past two seasons, Johnson has been a key contributor to the Jaguars’ special teams units. He has appeared in every game, tallying 21 tackles and a forced fumble across 34 regular-season contests.

Johnson also saw action in 14 games for the Bears during his rookie campaign. With the Jaguars opting not to tender him a contract, Johnson now has the chance to seek a new opportunity with his third NFL team.
