Alvaro Morata to move back to his former club Juventus.
The current Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is very close to signing for his former club, Juventus FC. Serie A has already started, and Juventus have won their first game against Sampdoria with a score of 3-0. After Juventus signed the legend Andrea Pirlo as their manager, the club is looking in good shape. It seems like Pirlo knows how to make his team win against the Serie A clubs, but the primary purpose of signing him is to win the UEFA Champions League. After the recent departure of Gonzalo Higuain to Inter Miami, Juventus needs a center-forward. At the wings, they do have players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Douglas Costa.
Alvaro Morata has already undergone the medical on Tuesday. Morata has won 2 Serie A titles before in 2014 and 2016 with Juventus only. After four years, he is back again to play for the Italian Champions on a one-year loan deal. This move was significant after the agreement with Barcelona for Luis Suarez got dropped. Morata had an excellent last season with Atletico Madrid. He played a massive role in the win against Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16, and Juventus expects the same performance from him this time at their club.
Who is Alvaro Morata?
Alvaro Borja Morata Martin is a football player who plays as a forward for the Spanish National Football Team and the Spanish club, Atletico Madrid. He recently left his current club to join his former club Juventus FC. Morata made his professional club career debut in 2010, playing for Real Madrid. After being the Madrid squad in the 2013-14 Champions League win, he was signed by Juventus. The Italian giants paid a transfer fee of €20 million for the forward. He won two Serie A titles and one Copa Italia with Juventus in his 2-year tenure.
After these two seasons, Real Madrid repurchased him for €30 million. He won the La Liga title with the club and another UEFA Champions League title before joining Chelsea FC the next season i.e., in 2017, for a club-record transfer fee of €60 million. After spending two years with the English club, he signed for Atletico Madrid in 2019 on a loan deal and made a move permanent in July 2020. Alvaro was broadly known for his pace, physicality, and energy on the pitch. However, with time his qualities had started to degrade. Although last season he showed his worth, we will get to see what changes he brings to Juventus’ gameplay soon.
