The English Premier League has begun, and the fans have already got to see some exhilarating games. Arsenal vs. Fulham, Leeds United vs. Liverpool, and many other games which were quite thrilling. The manager took a 16-man party for the friendly to Villa Park and played all of them in the match.
Match Summary: Manchester United vs. Aston Villa
Ole gave a chance to the following players for the match: Dean Henderson, Dalot, Fosu-Mensah, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Donny van de Beek, Lingard, Rashford, James, and Ighalo. The match began, and Aston Villa started pressing into the defense of United. Even then, the Red Devils seemed calm as they maintained possession and played accurate passes. In fact, in the early minutes itself, United was able to create a brilliant attack as van de Beek passed the ball to James, who played a grounded cross, but since no player was available, the ball went rolling ahead. In the 16th minute, Watkins scored the only goal of the game, which was assisted with a beautiful cross from Trezeguet. A few minutes later, United also got a chance to score but was unable to as the Aston Villa defenders continuously denied them.
The score at the end of the game was 1-0 in Aston Villa’s favor. United played well, to be honest, but they were not able to convert any of the chances that they got. The Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer made some crucial saves in both the halves of the game. They put up an excellent performance but need to work on finishing. Even though some of their key players like Martial, Bruno Fernandes, Pogba were missing, they should have been able to win this game. Not scoring a single goal shows that they need to train even harder now.
